    Banner Exchange Jargon
    Name = Service name, may be shortened to fit.
    Focus = Targeting of service.
    Animation = OK = animation permitted; No = animation not permitted.
    Cost = All listed services offer a free service level.
    Size = Banner dimensions in pixels: width x height.
    k = The maximum banner size in kilobytes.
    Credit Ratio = Exposures/Impressions = displays of others’ ads on your site/displays of your ad on their sites.
    Note = "?"s appear when the service doesn't provide complete specifications.

    3. An e-mail with which to communicate

    How It All Works
    You display others’ ads on your website(s), and they display your ads on theirs.

    Why Banner Networks Are Free
    The fractional credit ratio 1/2 means that for every two times you display a network banner, your banner will be displayed somewhere else once. The 2/3 credit ratio means that for every 3 times you display a network banner, your banner will be displayed twice, etc. The remaining display "credits" are purchased by advertisers.

    Banner Creation
    There are several free and paid banner-creation services, programs, and websites. Take advantage of these, as the appearance of your banner will influence the traffic on your site.

    Targeting
    Targeting is choosing a category of web site on which to display your banner ad. 

    Statistics
    Statistics allow you to monitor the effectiveness of your banner. Most banner exchanges will allow you to access these statistics.
    Credits = Available Impressions, which you earn by displaying others’ ads
    Impressions = times your banner was displayed
    Click-Thrus = times your banner prompted someone to enter your site
    Click-Thru Rate = Click-Thrus/Impressions
